Founded in 1969 by the great freedom fighter, Pt. Rajkishor Tiwari, who had been elected a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Uttar Pradesh twice, from the region, Mariahu P. G. College, Mariahu, Jaunpur is affiliated to Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur.

To support the cause of education, students are provided scholarships. More than 5000 students in all receive government scholarships annually of which more than 3000 are girls. Some of these are introduced in the name of their forefathers by the people who have contributed great to this college.
College provides career counseling as early as at the time of admission when students are guided regarding the selection of subjects as per their ambition and eligibility. Throughout the session the students are closely monitored and are given tips about future such as the details of major job oriented exams, tips on preparation, as to where to find the text material, etc.
Students have immense potential to learn but for specific education in stipulated time discipline is needed. To maintain discipline is a great responsibility and for this Proctorial Board is constituted whose job it is to maintain decorum and peace in the college premises. Students have been issued Identity Cards that are regularly monitored and updated. Students have to enter the college in designated college uniform, which is separate for boys and for girls.

Pt.Kaushal Pati Tiwari the son of Pt, Raj Kishor Tiwari was an Advocate. He had completed his Master’s degree in Law (L.L.M.) from the University of Lucknow. He had been the manager of this college for a sufficiently long period. This stability helped the college soar great heights of growth and prosperity.

The history of this college would perhaps remain incomplete without the mention of Dr Lalji Tripathi (M.A. Ancient History, L.L.B., Ph.D., D.Litt.), who had been the principal of this college for more than twenty years. His office of more than two decades gave him ample opportunity to impart growth and excellence to this institute.

Shri Apurva Tiwari, famous among the masses as ‘Pawanji’ took the reins of the college management after the demise of his father Pt. Kaushal Pati Tiwari. An alumnus of this college, he has a Master’s degree both in Philosophy and in Psychology. He is young, energetic and practical in his approach.

Dr Leena Tiwari, the wife of our manager Shri Apurva Tiwari, has been a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Uttar Pradesh. An alumnus of this college, she holds Master’s degree both in Political Science and in Ancient History.Besides, she is B.Ed and Ph.D. Revered greatly as Leena Madam by our students, she pays special attention to the difficulties of students especially the girls.
